I applied online. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at McKinsey & Company (Dubai) in Oct 2024
Interview
The worst recruitment experience! I applied for the associate implementation role February 2024, completed the online assessment and got invited for first round interviews in March to be scheduled for April. The interview structure was 1-2-1 with first round being just 1 interviewer (a partner) and the next 2 with an engagement manager and a partner before a final one with a partner. The first interview was handle well, interviewer very professional and no sudden changes to the schedule. The interview with the engagement manager was also professional and she was kind. The other 2 interviews were a hot mess with last minute cancellations and dragging of dates. I never got feedback from any of the interviews that I did even after continuously asking for feedback (including first round interviews). I had to chase the recruitment team on status of interview with weeks of not hearing back from them in between interviews. I chased for interview feedback and schedule and it honestly was a nightmare of an experience. The whole process took 8 whole months from February to October and after my final interview, I was told that I was not a good fit with no feedback on if it was my structure from the case of the FIT aspect. It was definitely the worst recruitment process I have been through and after interviewing with the BB of the MBB, the difference in my how they treat their candidates is very clear. I do not know if this is just a region thing because my friends that interviewed with other McKinsey offices have a different experience.

It was pretty straightforward and they knew what they were looking for. They had to do a couple of interviews to get a better understanding of my skills.

they let you prep for cases and do what the book says. this is only a question of how hard you prepared. then they take the people one by one and repeat again and again. sometimes the people who give you interviews have been there for less time than 1 yr
