Overall interview process took 3 months time. Started in Jul 2021, concluded with no offer. Initially they had budget and started with technical screening, design exercise and then 2 rounds of product management rounds.
When I cleared screening and passed design exercise, there was gap of 1 month, because of unavailability of one of the senior product person. Then next rounds were scheduled and I got positive feedback from both the rounds and even interview conveyed that they will be releasing the offer.
The next week, I shared all the documents required for the HR process. Now, suddenly they are our of budget. And they expect me to join them at my current CTC.
What I don't understand is, "why would someone change their job for the same pay?"
I suspect, recruitment team have found other talents and they made me say NO to their so called "OFFER".
Suggestion to the team: Please be transparent in hiring process and communicate exact expectations and reasons for releasing No-hike offers. Tell the candidates that they expensive and negotiate their expectations. Everyone needs growth in their career and even salary.
