Interview
Since Menlo pairs people up to work together on projects all day/every day, you have to do what is called an Extreme Interview to get in. It starts with one paid trial day. If your first trial day goes well, then you are invited to come back for a 3-week trial period where you are observed by the group and sporadically given feedback on how you’re doing.
All-in-all, Menlo is straightforward with you on what to expect and on what they expect from you. They also welcome your feedback from you, which is nice. However, I think that the company - as much as they say that they hire based on skillset and a willingness to learn - is mostly looking for a personality match. There is a very “Menlonian-ness” to everyone there, which makes for a sense of sameness to the staff.
