There were 5 rounds of interview. 2 with principals, 2 with partners and 1 with senior associate. Mercer is very compensation focused, so the interviews was largely around justifying my experience in compensation. There was also a case study. It was a simple case on designing a Talent Strategy for a Management Consulting Company.

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Mercer
Interview
First round interview consisted of a 30 minute behavioral interview with two consultants from the firm. One woman and one man--woman was brisk but engaged. The man was utterly disinterested and appeared to have a huge ego. He gave off an awful vibe of being above conducting interviews and yet could barely answer one of my more probing questions about Mercer intelligibly. He claimed that Mercer was less stuffy and more internally involved/collaborative than other top consulting firms. The lack of sincerity in his tone of voice completely belied the actual words exiting his mouth.

Interview
For the first round I was interviewed on campus. The interview was split between me asking lots of questions to see what my interest in the group was, and a typical behavioral interview. The second round was at Mercer and consisted of multiple behavioral interviews. Everyone seemed friendly and like they wanted to see if you fit the culture and work.
