I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Merrick Pet Care (Sacramento, CA)
Interview
I was scheduled for a 45 minute to 1 hour interview. I was given an assignment to prepare for the interview. I had to shop 4 pet supply stores that carried their brand, prepare a report for each experience that covered a question sheet they supplied, and create a power point for each store of what I would recommend to improve Merrick's performance in each location I visited. All told, the assignment required about a day and a half. It was a lot of preparation, which would require all of the one hour interview time to present properly.
I arrived on time for my interview. I was told that I was their last interview and that they had to leave for the airport in 35 minutes. This meant I had to rush through my presentation, there was virtually no time to review my experience, and it left the feeling I was more of a formality than a true applicant. They were nice enough, but I was not given a fair chance to present myself.
It was a disappointment, but no surprise, when I received the cut-and-paste email rejection. (Your qualifications are impressive, we had lot of applicants, thanks but no thanks, we'll keep your resume on file.)

They had little time for the actual interview. They asked me Why I was applying to Merrick.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Merrick Pet Care in Feb 2019
Interview
3 step process - phone/ in person / 3rd interview with completing an assignment. The assignment was a break out of a 20 min presentation plus a plan of action with an over coming objection piece. The process was very lengthy.
The only drawback was the compensation talk was never mentioned. No idea of salary range.
I felt that the position was one in which was extremely micro managed and procedural.
