      Flight Attendant Interview

      Jul 15, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Mesa Air in Jul 2016

      Interview

I applied July 1st and received an email, that night, with the questionnaire and the video interview invitation. I did the recorded video interview a couple of days later. The program was great! It lets you view the question, then you click on to record. After you record your question, it lets you review it, submit or retake, each question. That night, I received an invitation to do their two-way video OOVOO informational/interview. I responded with my information and time I chose for the informational session. I received another email in response to that saying that I got the invitation to the informational by accident and I was chosen to a phone interview instead! The recruiter I interviewed with said that the phone interview was for those candidates that made a really good impression to the higher ups. So you want a phone interview! She did an informational session, with another lady and myself, then we broke off and did interviews separately. She asked me the basic questions- what is my best trait, if I had any tattoos (don't freak! If you do have any that are visible then just keep them covered with the uniform or makeup), when could I start, etc. One of the important questions she asked is a situational question. She gave me four scenarios and asked which I would handle FIRST: smoke alarm in the lavatory going off, angry passenger, baby crying or a woman with a bloody nose. Just FYI, a flight attendant's most important job is passenger safety. So you know exactly what the right answer is, you don't need my help (lol). After that, she offered (Contingent Job Offer) me the job on the spot!! I leave for training the 27th and start on the 29th! I'm super excited and nervous but overall, so blessed for this opportunity. Going into the interview process, I was not giving up until they offered me the job. Bottom line, they were going to hire me! I was determined and it paid off! Tips for the interview: -Dress professional. Stick to black, blues and greys -SMILE! -Show your personality but don't take the interview too lightly. -Wear makeup but not too much. Mascara, blush and lipstick, definitely. -Don't be nervous, you'll do great! Tips to get ready for the interview -RESEARCH! Glassdoor has all the questions you need! Write them down and come up with answers. Memorize and rehearse them. -Be prepared! Don't wing the interview! -Watch youtube videos. They'll basically tell you whatever you need to know!

      Interview

Online process where you record videos of yourself answering questions and you have unlimited time to think of an answer and unlimited takes. But you do only have one minute to answer. Questions are pretty easy if you put some thought into them. About a month later I was invited to a group interview session via zoom as well as a one-on-one interview.

Very easy process. Honestly, it was such a pleasant Interview process. Fairly quick to move forward or to know you were not accepted. The recruiters were open minded and enjoyable to talk to. None of them were so intimidating that you felt unworthy.
