The interview was in Dallas, TX on September 22nd. I flew into the airport the evening before and was picked up by the hotel's shuttle. The guy was very nice and spoke to me about about what he knew about the interviews and told me all about the that would be there. He told me to expect around 20 people or so and that the recruiter's had told him before that they usually hire about 20% of interviewees. The hotel was nice and clean. Fast forward to the next morning to about 55+ people in the lobby at 9:30. I'd say about 35% of the people were dressed their absolute best. Many people wore very/too business casual clothing and some even wore their nose rings. I wore a black skirt suit with hose, heels, and my hair pulled back. As everyone says, mingle and talk to different people. It really calms your nerves and you'll meet a few friends ! At 10:00 we were called into the meeting room and took our places in rows of seats . The icebreaker we did was break ourselves up into pairs when we were handed papers where we would interview each other and get up in front of the group and introduce your parter. I sat in the very front and glad I did. While you're standing at the front of the class, the recruiters are taking lots of notes! After this is over they let people take a restroom break and everyone fills out some paperwork. When we turn in these papers, it was at this time we turned in our paperwork. Make sure to bring everything they ask for - it looks good. I spoke to one older lady who complained about having to prove she graduated high school and said she had no idea where her diploma was. Come prepared. They request a copy of : 1. Driver’s License or Government issued ID 2. Your Passport plus a copy (or proof of purchase receipt plus a copy). 3. Your Resume 4. A copy of your High School diploma or equivalent (diploma, GED, college degree or transcripts)" I brought both my high school diploma and college degree. Afterwards they tell us to take a 45 minute break for lunch while they compile a list of people who will be interviewed. This is important! Apparently they don't interview everyone. From what I understand, corporate sends them a list of people who they like and want to be interviewed, then the recruiters look around and decide if there's anyone on that list that should be interviewed. 30+ people left after the information session because they were not invited to an interview. Lots of people were upset about this since many people flew in from out of town and were not invited to an interview. They tell you that this does not mean that you will not be hired though. The recruiters say to watch your emails for f2f interviews or phone interviews because it's possible that you will still be called! Anyways, the 45 minute break turned into about a 1:15 minute break because it took them that long to compile a list of who would be interviewed - which was fine. I recommend packing a lunch or something because the only two options for food nearby is a Whataburger down the street or the little grocery area the hotel has. They tell you in your email inviting you to the interview that the process can take anywhere from 4 hours to 6 hours. They call people for interviews by when their departing fight are. For example, several people had 6pm flights out so they were called first, as opposed to me who had a next day flight. I waited about 4 hours for my turn to interview! So be warned that it is possible, if there's a big group, that the day could be longer than 6 hours. If you're called last, just be patient and talk to people. Chat with people who already went and they can give you a bit of insight. I was so nervous waiting for my interview because I have been taking this opportunity very seriously and I really want to become a part of the Mesa team. After 4 hours of waiting in the hotel lobby, chatting to people, by the time it was my turn I was exhausted, hungry, and knew the recruiter was the same! It was nice because at that point I was relaxed from exhaustion haha. The interview was very easy. They ask questions in a conversational way which makes it easy to answer. They go over a second time whether you can cover all of your tattoos, if you would be available for training within the month, etc. At the end she asked if I had any questions. I asked what advice she would give for people just starting out and what was the hardest part for her becoming a FA. So this interview was a week ago today and I'm still waiting to hear back. I know I did really well and I'm sure i will hear from them but I'm very anxious and looking forward to it! I've read from different people on here that some heard back within a week, and others after a week or even more! I'm hoping for a call today!
