      Escalations Specialist Interview

      Mar 13, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Singapore
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta (Singapore) in Mar 2018

      Interview

Hope this review helps the people out there looking for a similar role within the Community / Online / Risk & Resp Operations at FB as there is not much help out there to rely on. Quite a few weeks after I applied online, the whole process started and took around 1 month for only 1 interview stage. Very slow procedure from HR's first email until outcome communication. - Starts with HR's short call to present the role. You have the chance to present yourself and make your "opening statement" about your fit with the job. This lasts about 10-15 minutes and it's a very informal session. The HR manager is extremely kind and well-detailed throughout. - Interview with hiring manager was scheduled for a couple of weeks later. - Interview took place over video conference scheduled for a total 30-35 minutes. The format is very narrative and structured more like a conversation between friends than a job interview. One of the best 1:1 interview sessions I've ever had. The hiring manager was attentive, participating, engaged, and in general extremely friendly. He asked me only 3 questions in total before asking me to ask some to him. - After almost 2 weeks with no feedback whatsoever and 1 followup, the HR manager calls me on the phone unannounced to tell me I did not make it for the second round and proceeds to share feedback. Takeaways: - The coordinator/HR manager was awesome. She put a lot of effort in calling or emailing me every time there would be an update to the candidature process and would always be very caring and patient. She also gave out advise on how to prepare for the interview. - They call you to let you know what actually "went wrong". This is not common practice nowadays, unfortunately. This, added to the interviewer's great approach to the interview made the whole process definitely an experience worth doing again, and not as scary as most interview processes are. Note to people apply to similar roles: - The reason I failed was that I wasn't able to provide examples (see questions below) that would reflect a very fast-paced / frenetic daily scenario from my past working experience. As I did not come from a similar professional background, I may have never been able to find examples they were looking for after all. So keep this in mind if you're applying for escalation roles.

      Interview

Male interviewer appeared disengaged and rushed the conversation (e.g., explicitly telling me to "make it quick"). Questions were structured unclearly as interviewer rambled slightly, yet candidates were expected to give immediate, checklist answers.

      Interview

It was a great experience interviewing for this role with Meta. At the very least, I now have a clearer idea of what to expect in future Loop interviews with Meta. I would also like to share some feedback regarding one of the interviewers. I noticed that he frequently cut me off while I was trying to complete my answers, and at times, it felt like I was being rushed as I attempted to elaborate on my points. That said, the other interviewers were pleasant and professional, and overall, I found the experience to be a positive one.
