      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta (Dublin, Dublin) in Dec 2018

      Interview

Applied online. Then contacted by a "Talent Scout" asking me to answer 12-14 questions via e-mail (questions such as whether I am a citizen of Sudan, when I am going to graduate, etc.). Then, received another e-mail after 1,5-2 weeks asking for a 30 mins VC interview with one of the team members. This part was the best experience so far. The interviewer was attentive, listening to what I say and asking very straightforward questions. After joining in this session, two days after I have received another message that they will proceed with my application and that I am invited to the Dublin office, and that they will cover 1 night accommodation and round-trip flight tickets. In this e-mail, the talent scout also introduced me a lady who was apparently going to be my "primary recruiter." After sharing my details as requested in the e-mail, the primary recruiter contacted me and told me that they will continue with VCs (4 x 30 mins) (on the grounds that they do this when there are concerns over the candidate's entry into Ireland - although I shared with them that I have a valid visa) and if I am successful, they will host a day in Dublin so that I can connect with other successful candidates. Then, I joined in 4 interviews with them in the following areas: Career Planning, Critical Thinking, Market Knowledge and Case Study. Overall, interviewers were in rush and also told me in each session that they will be taking notes and cannot establish eye contact at all times. Although I was expecting, they did not ask so many behavioral questions and mostly focused on hypothetical questions. I applied for the position of Market Specialist for country X, and 3 of 4 interviewers were from this country. I also could not ask any questions because interviewers were running out of time. One interviewer also left the room once the other one connected through VC sharing that she had to be somewhere else. In any case, one of the interviewers was in his 6th month at FB (as I checked on LinkedIn) and overall, it felt like the interviewers are not qualified/experienced enough (based on the fact that I also interview people at my company applying structured behavioral interview methods). After the interview, although I thought I had nailed in 3 of 4, I shared with my friends that I didn't feel good with the interviewers (e.g. bored look on one of the ladies' face, attitude, etc.) and am not quite sure whether to accept the offer (if I receive it) and would be willing work at FB. Finally, 8 days after the VC interview, the recruiter contacted me and sent the following note by e-mail: "I am writing to let you know we have reached a decision on your candidacy for the Market Specialist, Graduate (XXXX) (Dublin) position and unfortunately you have not been successful. There was a lot of interest in this position and it was a difficult decision between our highly qualified candidates. Our hiring decisions are made on an evaluation of candidate’s attributes and background and how they fit in with the teams current and upcoming requirements as well as whether this role aligns with your personal career goals. Unfortunately I am unable to share specific feedback with you however we really appreciate you taking the time to interview with us and learn more about us and we encourage you to check back on our careers' page for future opportunities that align with your interests. We wish you well with your career search. Many Thanks" After all, they did not even share any feedback so that I can "improve" from their point of view. In this regard, I highly question whether FB really selects the best...

It was a lot of stages and felt quite long. I feel like they can shorten the process or lessen the stages to not waste the candidate’s time. You’ll have to prepare and research for these too.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Meta (Singapore) in Nov 2025

      Interview

Applied for Market Specialist role for Singapore covering the Vietnam market. Heard from recruiter a month after I applied where she set up a screen to chat. The role pays a lot lower than I expected (recruiter said 71500 SGD + 10% bonus) which was what I made as a grad at Salesforce years ago... When asked what I was after, they said the salary was non-negotiable but they were willing to sponsor my visa and that the equity was negotiable. I moved forward to the next round where the team member I interviewed with was rock solid with her personality. No smile, no interest in being there - I get it's Meta but she had a pretty bad attitude where I could sense that she wanted to catch me off guard with the 'market-related' questions. Didn't have fun throughout the process and they give you no feedback. Recruiter also doesn't really respect the timezone differences and also reschedule/was late more than once. Interview isn't as difficult if you do research into the market you're applying for and you have solid STAR answers. Overall the role is a glorified policy person that helps clean up the stuff online in their backend but they make it sound as though the role has scope to do a lot of things and have tons of impact - you won't.

      Interview questions [1]

Behavioural: - Name a time you used data to directly influence a decision made in your team. - Name a time you disagreed with a decision made by upper management and how you went about persuading them to see you point of view?
