I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Meta (London, England) in Mar 2019
Interview
I was contacted by the technical sourcer through email, then proceeds to an informal chat followed by technical phone screen the following week.
This is followed by an arrangement for onsite interviews to London, in 4-6 weeks time (in order to prepare for visa and interviews). The interviews are 4x45 minutes (1 behavioral + 2 coding + 1 system design) and the feedback is quick, hiring decision delivered in just one week and the offer at the week after.
Overall the recruiter is very friendly and helpful, in providing preparation materials and answering any questions that I might have regarding the entire process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
(Phone screen questions)
1. For a given binary tree, print paths from root to all leaf nodes, one path per line.
2. Given a sequence of positive integers "seq" and an integer "total", return whether a contiguous sequence of "seq" sums up to "total".
(Onsite interview questions are covered by NDA therefore can't post, but it can be said that the knowledge of data structures and handling edge cases are important for the coding interviews)
The process is straightforward and designed to help us get to know each other. It moves through a few stages at a comfortable pace, involves conversations with several team members, and focuses on making sure it's a good mutual fit.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Meta
Interview
Had an initial recuriter call and then scheduled a coding round with 2 leetcode questions. Practicing Meta-tagged leetcode questions would help prepare for this round. Interviewers expect clear communication and code.
Generic LeetCode-style questions, many tagged as Meta, so extensive preparation is required to perform well in the technical interview. The experience varies significantly - some interviewers provide hints and guidance, while others expect candidates to solve problems independently with minimal assistance.
