Interview
Recruiter reached out and set me up with a phone Interview with (let's call him) Mr A. Phone screen was actually a video interview over zoom. He asked about my resume, and some other general questions then provided with a coding question. I presented my idea with sudo code and then explain the time complexity, after that spent 20-30 minute coding it out. After that I double checked my solution and he pointed out one line with logic error. I was variable != null when it should have been variable == null. After that he mentioned that this solution worked and I was right on time. I asked him about team and he ended with a good note. I saved the solution and pasting it below. I also found similar problem on LeetCode with somewhat similar approaches. To my surprise recruiter reached back saying "unfortunately we decided not to move forward." I don't get it, even after solving the solution, with an efficient algorithm and solving it on time doesn't qualify you for next round then what does? Looks like Mr A either gave incorrect feedback or didn't do his job properly.

Interview
Had an initial recuriter call and then scheduled a coding round with 2 leetcode questions. Practicing Meta-tagged leetcode questions would help prepare for this round. Interviewers expect clear communication and code.
Generic LeetCode-style questions, many tagged as Meta, so extensive preparation is required to perform well in the technical interview. The experience varies significantly - some interviewers provide hints and guidance, while others expect candidates to solve problems independently with minimal assistance.
