We're grateful every time someone is interested in MetaLab and we invite all feedback that allows us to improve the candidate experience. Last year, we introduced voluntary, anonymous demographic questions to our application process, including gender, ethnicity, and sexuality. Candidates' response, or choice to not respond, is entirely voluntary and does not affect their application, nor is there any way for MetaLab to view a candidates' responses to the demographic questions. When candidates choose to respond to the demographic questions, responses are provided via our applicant tracking system in aggregate only and remain entirely anonymous. Beyond that, screening anyone out of the process based on these factors goes directly against everything we believe in. MetaLab stands against all forms of oppression, discrimination, and inequity faced by underrepresented groups. We ask the voluntary, anonymous demographic questions to both help ensure underrepresented groups in tech are represented in our hiring pipelines and to reduce any barriers or unconscious bias based on their identity as they move through our hiring process.
