It was a decent day, many people applied for the job and had interviews at the same time so it was more of a group experience. They made us feel comfortable and provided lunch. After a short presentation there was 3 tests, an iq test, a map test and design flow chart of a system test. It became very obvious quickly that they weren't really looking for someone with experience in software as I was the only person in the group from a software background with everyone else having studied in maths and physics. It felt quite often that their ideal candidate was just the best person at answering their tests and had the highest iq rather than skill in the area. The person presenting the interview even going so far as to say they'd need to reteach all previous coding experience which I felt was a bit disrespectful. Also they showed absolutely no interest in my previous work or projects and instead only focused on their tests. To me the organisation felt rather stuffy and dull, everyone was nice enough but it was all very serious and it's not somewhere I'd ideally want to work.
