Thanks for your feedback and I’m sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your interview at Metaswitch.
It is possible to upload your CV and cover letter to our application and the initial form should be really quick and easy as it only asks for your name, contact details and 3 tick box questions. We do ask a few more detailed written questions at a later stage in the application process which I agree can take some time however they are really important from our point of view as they help us to get an idea of which areas of the business candidates may be interested in.
It’s a shame to hear that you felt our in–house tests were subjective. We design them so that they can be answered with a range of different approaches and answers. This is so that logical, creative or technical candidates alike can all come up with solutions without having deep programming knowledge. We have had a number of feedback comments from candidates that our interview sessions can be intense and for this reason the number of tests have been reduced in our first interview sessions for graduates – now there are only 3 tests throughout the morning.
Lastly it’s disappointing to hear that you didn’t feel your interviewer covered all the bases. While previous experience can be a good indicator, for grad and intern positions we put more of a focus on natural aptitude for problem solving.
Thanks again for your feedback and best of luck with your job search and future career.
