After submitting my cv, got a call from HR-columbus. She spent 20 minutes qualifying me for a second interview with the actual hiring manager. 3 days later got a call from a Mettler Toledo rep out of their Toronto office. The phone interview lasted 15 minutes. Soon as he reads my CV, he figures out that I must be in my late 50s. So he ended the call. I then e-mail back the HR rep to find out what happened. She informs that they had lots of applicants more qualified. I was surprised that the very brief questions he had asked me were similar to what the HR rep had asked 2 days prior. So I am qualified with the HR rep but not with the hiring manager?? Age discrimination must be the most logical deduction. Either way, the HR was very respectful as she at least got back with me very quick. The 2 phone call/interview happened within a 1 week and a half.
