      Recruitment Consultant Interview

      Oct 5, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Michael Page (Boston, MA) in Sep 2018

      Interview

A Page Group director reached out to me and set up a time to talk about my interest in a career as a recruiter. After a quick phone screen, I was brought into the office for an on-site interview. That round went well and was invited for another interview on site, meeting with various managers. That was the last time I heard from them. There was no follow up, no email exchange, and no communication after that last interview. It was very unprofessional and speaks to the culture and the type of people at that office (Boston). As a candidate, I gave you several hours of my time. The least you can do is take 5 minutes to send an email. Be professional!! Beware of the bad reviews online and take the time to read them as they seem to line up with what I noticed throughout the interview process and during my time in their office. In the Boston office, they bring their UK leadership over to run the place and it seems like there is a culture of micromanagement if you're not a top performer. The management leaders I met with seemed like complete snakes. They would not only throw you under the bus to benefit themselves but they'd go a step further and drive the same bus that's running you over! I can't believe how unprofessional and disorganized everything was. Things could change for the better but for those interviewing for the Boston office, beware! I reached out to former employees and what they said lines up with the reviews. My advice: If a candidate is not a good fit, follow up with them and provide some type of closure. An email will take you literally 5 minutes to write and send! If you treat prospective employees with this level of disrespect, imagine what it's like working there!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Sales role play scenario where you're selling something. Otherwise, mostly behavioral and fit questions.

      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Michael Page (New York, NY) in Feb 2023

      Interview

I had a final round interview with a man named Sean Puddle. He told me I wasn't a good fit because I was from Long Island and likely had family money, so I wouldn't be hungry enough for this sales role. Sean is now at Robert Walters, and I'm sure he's been the same jerk there.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

No questions, just told I wasn't a good fit because I allegedly came from family money based off of where I was raised.
