      Construction Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Michael Page (New York, NY)

      Interview

So I submitted an application online and got a call back. This is a recruiting firm that puts people in touch with companies to help them get jobs. I called the guy back and had a conversation with him. Wow. So mainly you tell them about yourself, your background, what you're looking for etc. Basic questions. This position I applied for salary was way less than what I was already making. The guy, Ian, was completely rude and unprofessionally. He basically said I didn't have enough experience and couldn't make more than that. One, I was already making more than the salary they were offering. Obviously I wouldn't take a job paying me less. Two, I did get another job soon after paying me way more that I did. These recruiter working in real estate do no know much about the construction or engineering business. The guy interviewing on the phone is not even an engineer. I couldn't believe the nerve he had trying to put me down when he's the one who called me. Unbelievable. Definitely would NOT recommend working with this recruiting firm!

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Michael Page

      Interview

This is response to their service offering, and not for a Michael Page position. Poor follow up. This is my second go around, and to me, Michael Page is notorious for reaching out and then disappearing. They reach out until they speak to you, ask for: resume and fill out application; then talk about opportunities they have. You send them the items they requested and they disappear. Never to be heard from again. You send a follow up email. No response. Wait a few days, follow up email to them - no response. Maybe do this 2 more times. No response. No, nothing. No, "thank you not interested." No, "the position has been filled." No, "we got your info and are reviewing." Nothing. Silence. No professional courtesy, irrespective of the response. Hey, if I'm not the person for the role or you don't want to recommend - cool, no biggie, we've all been through that. But to disappear with no follow up? Different recruiters? C'mon.. This must be the culture. Will not be taking a call from them again nor referring their service to anyone.
