      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Michael Page in Oct 2013

      Interview

Spoke to one of the directors on the phone. Came in at 9am a few days later for an in-person interview. He told me in the middle of the interview that I came across as being too nice and not having any edge, to which I responded: "dude, it's an interview... obviously I'm going to try to present myself as being upbeat and excited rather than scary and mean." Or at least I said something like that. Either way, as I was trying to make a good impression and be outgoing, the director never even cracked a smile (even when he said things which were intentionally funny). I think he was trying to portray the company (or at least the NY office) as accurately as possible-- as a place where people often yell at each other and the norm is to work a minimum from 7am to 7pm, though as he informed me some people work from 6am to 10pm. I met with another person after speaking with the director who was very friendly and exceedingly passionate about her job, but at that point I was already finished with the company. I called them the next day to end the interview process.
