Interview
I had an extremely disappointing experience interviewing for the Data Scientist at Michigan State University. The entire process was frustrating, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time.
I participated in four lengthy presentations and interviews, dedicating hours to prepare and present my qualifications. Despite this, I received no feedback or follow-up after the final interview, which included a meeting with the Dean as a final candidate. This lack of communication and closure was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful of my time.
On top of that, some interviewers displayed a complete lack of professionalism, which made the experience even more discouraging. After investing so much time and energy into this process, the absence of feedback or any explanation about the next steps was disappointing.
I would caution any future applicants about this process and hope that MSU takes steps to improve their hiring procedures. No candidate should go through multiple rounds of interviews without clear communication or feedback.

Question 1
During the interview process, one of the key questions I was asked across multiple rounds was how I would approach solving a complex data analysis problem, specifically related to large datasets and identifying meaningful insights. The interviewers wanted to understand my problem-solving process, technical skills, and ability to communicate complex concepts effectively, especially during the panel presentation.
