Interview
i applied through website and got call and email to set up for the first interview. before the 1st iv, they will give an assessment test for you to answer. the test is about basic c programming language, cmos basic, logic gate and logic developement.
there are two rounds of iv. the 1st iv is technical with 2 of the engineers. they are so nice, i am not from cs background, so i took long time to answer the coding question but they wait for me patiently.
after i done the 1st iv, i got a call saying that i passed the 1st iv and scheduled for the 2nd iv. the 2nd iv is with 2 of the HR and the iv is about behaviour question.
I passed the 2nd iv, and the next day i was called by the HR and offered the job but i rejected it because i got better offer from other company.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
1st iv. technical question.
- they give you basic C programming questions , like data type, sorting array, and from the code they asked you what is the output and explain how you get the output.
- basic cmos diagram. how is the NOR gate cmos diagram, truth table of NOR gate.
- logic developement question. for example, 73 aliens come to a meeting. 21 have 3 heads. 18 have 4 arms. 9 have 3 eyes. 7 have 3 heads and 4 arms. 2 have 4 arms and 3 eyes. 3 have 3 heads and 3 eyes. 1 alien has all the abnormalities. so how much aliens are normal?
i answer this using subset and venn diagram.
all the above questions are from the assessment test given for you to answer before the 1st iv. so remember what are the questions in the assessment and revise that.
2nd iv- behavioural questions
- tell about your fyp
- any project have you done that are related to this job description like programming project?
- how do you know your code is working ?
- how you test your program?
- are you okay to see your future self working more in programming when your study background is more to electronics study?
- strength and weakness when working in a team.
mostly the questions are to see whether you fit the job position.
The interview had two rounds. First round was a screening where HR asked me some basic questions like my interests, whether I know how to code and if I understand some basic semiconductor things. The second round was more intense, it had two part: first was an exam with up to 30-40 questions; they were not hard questions like basic electic circuits and electronics/logic design. The second part was a roller coaster at least for me. It was with the recruiter + some seniors. They had mostly coding questions and a lot of Linux related questions.
