Interview
My resume and portfolio were recommended by a Microsoft intern in August. I was contacted in early October informing me that they would like to have a phone interview for the Garage program. The call was about 45 minutes and the recruiter was very kind. She asked me to talk about my portfolio and my design process. About halfway through the call, she informed me that she was definitely interested in sending me through to the final round.
The final round was in the Vancouver office of Microsoft. It was half a day and consisted of one 15 minute portfolio presentation followed by 4 back-to-back interviews. 3/4 interviews had a design challenge and the were all very focussed on the design process. A week after the interview, I got an email from the recruiter who asked to schedule a call for the following morning to "talk about the interview". When she called in the morning, she told offered me the internship.
