I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Microsoft (Warsaw, Masovia) in Feb 2019
Interview
I got invited for a phone interview with Microsoft. People were nice, despite me being late to reply, and the interview itself was fine, the recruiter was good.
Later I was contacted by another recruiter telling my that my feedback was positive, but they don't have places left for this summer, and that if I get in touch with him I would be starting from the final on-site interview next year. Great - I thought, and waited.
When I contacted him 6 months later he said that I will be invited to on-site event in Warsaw and the details will be sent later. Then nothing, until 1 week before the event when I was told there is no place for me after all, despite the event taking place normally. I was pissed off since I already prepared and planned the trip.
He asked me if I could make it to 2 other locations, then he went quiet. After a month of not responding to my emails he told me there would be no more places for US internship and asked if Im interested in interning in Europe. I said yes, and then, after 2 months I was told that they are unable to place me anywhere....
I think it's terribly unproffesional from the company and they kind of ruined my motivation for top-flight internship seeking
