This was a very disappointing and unprofessional experience!
Shortly after applying for this position, I received a set of screening questions that I responded to via email. A few days after they reviewed my responses, I was invited to a phone screening with a member of their recruiting team. A few days after the call, I was then invited to a 1:1 interview with the hiring manager. At the end of the interview, the hiring manager indicated she would like to invite me to a panel interview. I was told to expect an email with additional details from their recruiting team in order to schedule it.
Several days later, when I didn’t receive any additional communication regarding the panel interview, I followed up via email. When I did not receive a response a couple of days after that, I reached out one more time, but again no one replied.
Their consistent lack of response was very unprofessional given what I was told to expect and how much time I had already devoted to their interview process. I realized that if this is how they treat their candidates, imagine how they treat their employees!
After a week of not receiving replies to my multiple emails regarding the upcoming panel interview, I decided to move forward with another opportunity. As a courtesy to MedInsight, I sent them an email to inform them of my decision. Shortly afterward, I received a response back from the recruiter indicating that they were still trying to coordinate next steps and she would like to know if I was still interested in the role. Not only was I was perplexed that the recruiter ignored my multiple follow-up emails and only replied when I withdrew my application, but I couldn't figure out why she would ask me if I was still interested given my previous response about my decision. I responded again by email and made it clear that my decision was final since I had already committed to the other opportunity. She wished me good luck and I thought that was the end of that.
One week later, I received a formal invite from the recruiter to the panel interview I had already turned down for the role! I was baffled and frustrated that she was not able to recall our previous interaction so I Cc'd the hiring manager and forwarded our previous email interaction to both as a reminder of what was already discussed. The hiring manager thanked me for Cc'ing her as she seemed unaware of how problematic my interactions had been with the recruiter over the previous weeks. Surprisingly, the recruiter never apologized or explained the reason for continuing to ignore what we had discussed.
I have never come across anything like this before and hope someone in this company makes sure it never happens to another candidate again.
