I applied online. I interviewed at Milltown Partners (London, England) in Sep 2023
Interview
Unfortunately I found Milltown's interview process quite disorganised and unprofessional. First I applied in March this year, I was offered an interview for a later date and then completely ghosted and my follow-up email ignored. I then reapplied for the same position in September, and was offered an interview again. Once I arrived at the interview I was first informed that one of my interviewers would be present in person and one online - quite an unusual format, and then one of them cancelled 2 minutes before the start time and had to be replaced. Similar to previous reviews, the interview was not at all like I expected based on the recruiter's description and based on the fact that there would have been 3 further rounds. Safe to say my performance was negatively affected by all these factors and I am put off from reapplying in the future. On the other hand, all the employees I met were friendly and interviewers seemed genuinely invested in our conversation rather than just listing pre-written questions. In the rejection email, the HR team made a clear effort to provide feedback and useful resources for my job search.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What company would you like to have as a client? Why does x have a good reputation and what reputational challenges are they facing?

Interview
I had two consultants interview me for about 50 min and like most interviews go they were neutral, friendly and curious about my experiences. There weren’t too many surprises however if you do give an opinion about a something comms related (eg. a campaign you liked or didn’t) they will lightly debate with you to see how good you are at supporting your point.
But it was mostly an average interview and I enjoyed speaking with the consultants.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Q. Describe a company with an interesting reputation.
The process had many stages (like 4 or 5?), I only made it through one. I definitely should have prepared more but it was pretty generic (what do you read, how do you manage expectations, when did you manage up, what projects have you owned etc.).

Question 1
Why I want to work in corporate communications and not in journalism or other types of communications
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Milltown Partners (London, England) in Feb 2025
Interview
45 minutes of 20 questions including follow ups. After the interview I got an email saying I wasn’t passionate enough about corporate comms, which was strange because the employee interviewing me was working in the same role and said he had no idea what corporate communications even meant when he started the role.
