Fast initial contact from HR, then first round with direct manager, then onsite. All pleasant, but startup feeling. One month gone, then long time no hear, then after another 2 weeks out of the blue short update from HR that thigns are still open and in process and that he would provide a phone update the following week. Never heard from him since then, despite his promise and despite my check in.
I am always amazed by these new companies as to how they perform hiring process, how they behave in it and how they communicate with the applicants. If you come from a big global corporation that ranks on top ranks in how they treat employees then you kind of have high standards and at minimum would expect the hiring company to adhere to the process and communicate even less positive outcomes.
Or not every company has such a basic thing in place than an internal process for the above? It is not only that the company is selecting its employees, but also the candidates do select who they work for and the details in this initial process matter. Even more nowadays.
