Was reached out to by a recruiter, submitted an application and heard nothing for two months. Then I was reached out to by a senior scientist and asked to prepare an hour long talk with three days of notice, which I did, in preparation for an afternoon full of virtual interviews, a scientific presentation, and Q&A. I did all of these things and it seemed to go well, and was told I’d hear back in two weeks. I even followed up the next day with a thank you note, and I have not heard a word in the three months since then. It was profoundly frustrating to be ghosted by a position that I spent that much time on. The whole process just was not very professional from the start, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else with a PhD waste their time.
