The interview was a nightmare. The interviewers was not prepared. Old outdated building with obsolete web presses. Poorly managed. Description of the job was not accurate. Many of the prepress operations are being done outside the Newton facility in the marketing and studio in Des Moines. The Newton facility needs an Automated Imposition Supervisor. This has little to do with prepress. The prepress department uses the Kodak prepress system that utilizes presets. Plug-in-Play. No skill or talent required. (This information was never disclosed.) Very deceptive and misleading. You can exceed the description and requirements of the position, yet you will be passed over an undisclosed reason. 40 years of prepress experience isn't enough, even when salary compensation is moderate. RGB conversions, trapping and preflighting are done through presets. This is an imposition position, not prepress. All the challenging work is done outside the Newton facility. A position that is not fun, exciting and challenging = boredom. Would have desired to walked from this position after 1 week. Automated process is something even a monkey can do. This position does NOT require talent or skill. If you wish to do prepress, this is NOT the position you seek.
