I had an extremely disappointing experience with Mobile Programming, a company that advertised for a work-from-home job but later terminated me because I refused to work from their office. When I first applied, the job posting explicitly stated that the position was remote and allowed for a flexible schedule. As someone who needs to balance work and family responsibilities, this was a perfect fit for me. However, after the orientation session, HR manager called and told that - This is WFO position. This was a complete shock to me since I had specifically taken the job because of its remote nature and also my recruiter had mentioned the same. I explained my situation to the company and asked if there was any way I could continue working from home. Unfortunately, they were unwilling to accommodate my needs and was terminated. Funny thing was their IT team called and said - there is a issue with the laptop, so kindly asked me to return it and they will fix it. And this was after i was terminated. Not only was this situation extremely disappointing, but it also felt like a bait-and-switch tactic. I had specifically taken the job based on its advertised work-from-home benefits, only to find out that this was not actually the case. The fact that the company was unwilling to work with me to find a solution only added insult to injury. Overall, I would not recommend Mobile Programming to anyone looking for a flexible work-from-home job, as they clearly do not uphold the promises they make to potential employees. Company lacks basic structure, there is no common ground between the HR manager, recruiters, IT team. Everybody behaves as separate units and highly suggest to stay away from such deceptive companies.
