Incredibly disorganized and left a bad taste in my mouth.
The first Zoom interview went smoothly. I talked to other engineers and found their questions easy, and got along with them.
Second Zoom interview consisted of speaking with a Senior Employee and then the CEO of the company.
Senior employee came to the Zoom interview 10 minutes late. He was quite curt, and at one point in the interview he told me point blank, “We have had 100+ applicants for this position and are now down to the final few candidates, why should we pick you?”. While it is a valid question, he asked it in a very curt and patronizing tone. It very much had this arrogant vibe of “Prove yourself to me little man”.
He then passed me to the CEO. The CEO asked me to talk about myself in a way that made it clear to he had not read my resume at all. Almost as if the CEO had been told he had to interview at the last minute, or he was just unprepared. Despite my growing annoyance, I again answered professionally.
In the second interview, I felt like my interviewer had a massive ego that he didn’t bother hiding thru not arriving on time and his general vibe. The CEO being unprepared for my interview made the company seem disorganized.
My professionalism paid off. I received an offer, and took it despite my reservations. I was desperate for a job during COVID-19.
The company turned out to have a toxic work culture. Stay away from this company.
