I was applied online and proceed to have like 5 or 6 couple phone interviews with different people. I kept getting told that they liked me, but not for this team and I kept getting passed onto different managers of different teams for about a month before finally just being ghosted. I would have preferred a flat out rejection, I was excited that they seemed interested because I think their tech is really cool, but in the end I just felt like my time had been wasted when I could have been looking harder for other jobs. To be fair, all the science people I talked to were super nice and seemed to know what they were doing, but the management people were a bit flippant and I kept hearing that "I wasn't experienced enough", even though I felt like the science people were pretty comfortable with my level of technical and research experience. Otherwise, the interviews were pretty standard and easy, I was just disappointed because I felt led on in a kind of bizarre goose chase, trying to find a position.
