I applied online and was invited to attend an in-person hiring event. I attended the event and it was "fine" - basically a cattle call where it was impossible to meaningful engage with any of the Moderna employees. I followed up with the recruiter to express that I was still interested, but that I didn't leave the hiring event with any actionable next steps or information. I had to nag him three different times over email to schedule a phone call with me.
The call itself was straightforward - general experience questions and HR bookkeeping sort of stuff. I was told to expect a follow up within the week on next steps. No follow up ever arrived, despite me emailing the recruiter two more times. Complete radio silence.
From beginning to end it was a disorganized and unprofessional experience. It felt like far more time and effort was put into hosting a fancy event to impress candidates than was put into actually meaningfully engaging with anyone. A dispiriting time waster of an experience.
