This was for a new grad role. Passed a technical assessment that you have about a week to complete. Moved on to a short, final round onsite interview. I got 2 people interviewing me for 1-2 hours. The interview question itself was easy, but my interviewers themselves were probably the poorest interviewers I've had. Before I started, I told them I like to think as I code, so I may be writing psuedo code as I went. I got stopped numerous times by the interviewers who asked me a series of leading questions all culminating in me revealing I knew the code I wrote wasn't syntactically correct. This occurred repeatedly until I finally stopped to ask them if they preferred me writing syntactically correct code the first time. They said no, but the problem persisted afterwards. At some point when I finally got around to cleaning up my pseudo code, I told them I forgot how to iterate through a hash map in Java. One of the interviewers gave me the wrong function, and only after he got visibly frustrated at me trying to explain how the function only gave me the values (rather than key value pairs) did the other interviewer step in to give me the correct function. A question which should have taken me five minutes ended up taking forty five minutes because of this shenanigans.
