My experience with MoMa's hiring process left much to be desired. Initially, I was asked to prepare a detailed two-page write-up addressing several questions prior to any interviews. While I invested time and effort into this preparation, the lack of subsequent communication was disappointing. Despite receiving confirmation of my application and write-up, I was left in the dark thereafter, receiving no further correspondence even after reaching out to inquire about my application status.
This lack of follow-up not only reflects poorly on the hiring process but also gives potential candidates a concerning glimpse into the communication and organizational culture at MoMa. It's disheartening to invest an afternoon into preparing a comprehensive write-up only to be met with silence on the other end.
In the future, MoMa should strive to improve their communication with applicants, regardless of the outcome of their application. Providing feedback or at least acknowledging the effort candidates put into their applications would greatly enhance the overall candidate experience."
