The hiring manager and the sales manager were very nice people, and the process was fine, up until we got to the point where we discussed how much reps make per job sold. They advertise this role as a “$500,000/yr” position. To be clear, in order to make that kind of money with their business model, you would have to sell 333 jobs in a year (at the very minimum). ** The best solar sales reps in the country sell ~100 jobs a year, and they work tirelessly 9am to 9pm, with all of the selling and project management required to keep up that book of business. ** With their business model, it would be better (and more honest) if Momentum simply advertised this role as a $70,000-$120,000/yr position. But one could easily argue that would be an oversell in the first year, as well. Just make sure you ask the right questions.
