The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley in May 2011
Interview
I applied on line and was called by a recruiter in hr. She interviewed me for 20 minutes and then invited me in to meet with the vp who I would be reporting to. I came in a few days later..the interview was rather odd I would say. She didn't really ask me too much. She just read my resume and told me that the job description was everthing that I've done before. She just basically needed someone with common sense to fill the position. I must not have shown enough common sense because I did not get a call for a second interview and wasn't told why. Just that the position was no longer in need of recruitment.
One virtual interview with the head of the administration team and one in person interview at their office in the Sears Tower. The role and expectations were explained, in addition to the pay structure which was a six month minimum contract (hourly) with no benefits. Regardless, the interview went great and I was expecting to hear from them and I never did. I’m not positive they were ever serious about hiring anyone. Perhaps why the role was set up as contract to begin with, even though it was a permanent role. They never communicated any feedback to updates to the recruiter who sent me. I was also asked an illegal question which I listed below.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (London, England) in Apr 2026
Interview
First stage Teams call with the senior assistant - very casual told me about the team what they do, the hybrid structure.
What they are looking for and the type of work they do in the department
Fairly straightforward with what they were looking for and with the time line of the process. Very, very nice people. Interviews were with the admin staff and a few managing directors. I also met with two HR representatives. Everyone was really nice.
