      Human Resources Business Partner Interview

      Jul 23, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Purchase, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Purchase, NY) in Jun 2015

      Interview

The experience was terrible, for me. They were really looking for someone with more of a background in the financial sector. The interviewer advised me that she had asked the recruiter to bring in individuals with strong generalist backgrounds from other industries, and then she told me that it would be a huge learning curve.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley

      Interview

I recently completed a 2.5-month interview process with Morgan Stanley, including seven video interviews for a mid-level role. Throughout the process, I had respectful and engaging conversations, and I appreciated that the hiring leader shared a clear decision timeline and asked if I had other offers to be mindful of turnaround time. Several stakeholders I met with seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the potential to work together, one of the stakeholders even contacting me directly post interview which made the experience feel promising. I made sure to send thank-you notes to every interviewer and approached each conversation with thoughtfulness and preparation. However, despite this, I never received any follow-up or closure. The recruiter did not initiate contact at any point, and after the final round, despite being told I would hear back, I was ultimately ghosted. Of the seven interviews, only two were structured and professionally led. The others felt loosely organized and inconsistent, making it difficult to understand how the role was being evaluated. While I was initially excited about this opportunity, the lack of follow-through left me disappointed especially given that I was outreached to as a passive candidate by the recruiter. During the interview they even talked about the importance of providing a “white glove experience” for referrals. I hope Morgan Stanley reflects on how critical consistent communication and closure are in creating a respectful candidate experience, especially for those who invest significant time and energy in the process.

      Human Resources Business Partner Interview

      Sep 8, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley in Jul 2024

      Interview

The entire interview process was very disappointing and unprofessional. I expected more from the company size of Morgan Stanley would have a better coordination with the process. However, my honest feedback as a candidate is quite horrible. Three weeks after applying online, I received a ‘Random’ Zoom Meeting schedule in my inbox from a recruiter, requesting me to confirm the schedule. This was completely out of blue considering there was no previous interaction(call or message) provided. I met with the hiring manager and decided to move forward with the next interview which was On-Site. When I showed up to the office at the scheduled time, I learned that two out the three of my interviewers were not available. I fully understand that emergency could happen in our lives but the Talent Acquisition team was completely unaware of this mishap. Upon communication, a recruiter rescheduled the interview via Zoom call on following week. One of the interviewers thought this was rescheduled as an On-Site interview so I had to alert the recruiter. We finally were able to begin our Zoom Call 15 minutes into the scheduled time. After all four sets of interviews, the hiring manager informed me that I will be hearing from the TA team on the final decision within a week. However, no one from the company connected with me so I had to send the follow-up email after two weeks from they had zero respect for the final interview. I was completely ghosted and felt that they had zero respect for the candidates. Overall, the entire process was very disorganized.
