Motional Computer Programmer interview questions

The background check process they use after extending an offer is completely unacceptable. They require nearly 10 years of W2s. They required my high school transcripts and college transcripts. High school was more than 25 years ago. I have no idea how my grades from 25 years ago have any bearing on employment eligibility, but I kept my mouth shut and played their game. I don’t happen to have my high school or college transcripts just lying around, so I had to pay money and have them ordered. Some of these documents can take several weeks to arrive, but in the mean time I started providing the documents I did have. A few they accepted, but then they accused me of creating fake documents, fraudulent was the word they used. I then called the hiring manager to make sure she knew what was going on. I told her I was uncomfortable with the whole process, especially the requirement that I hand over nearly 10 years of W2s. I also wanted her to know that the background check company they use basically called me a liar when they accused me of forging documents. I told her this call was just a courtesy in case they didn’t know what the background check company was doing in their name. She said she was fully aware. I then politely told her that I didn’t think the company was the right fit and that I no longer wanted the job. I then thanked her for the companies consideration. Right before I got off the phone, as a parting shot, she told me she had talked to the background check company and they said I was “difficult”. I firmly believe that when a person or company tells you who they are you should listen and their abuse spoke volumes.
