Read about Network and wireless. How network and Computer topology works. Average for Entry level position. Basic understanding of Networking, Wireless would be sufficient. Get a CCNA and CCNA security Certificate for L2 or L3 Position.
the interview process is not upto the standard. The culture is not appreciated its like a school monitoring with pin point to each course of action. I expected better but cant help.

Interview for Network engineer concentrated on network fundamentals like OSI layered model, DHCP dora process, ARP, VLANS, Subnetting and packet flow in networks. Based the role you would be placed they might also question on STP on switches and routing protocols.
