After applying online via LinkedIn and submitting my resume, the talent acquisition personnel asked for a skills sheet and scheduled a call at the same time. I found the talent acquisition personnel cute and likeable. After the call by few days, I was invited to a two-hour technical interview, but since we are geeks, six hours went by before we even notice. I was interviewed by two technical team members, and it seems they got very different impressions on me. By the way, I fall in love, perhaps one-sided love, with one of the technical team during the interview and the lunch break. In addition, I got the chance to say hello and chat briefly with the CTO on that day, whom I was fan of already, and I was very satisfied with that brief interaction. Later on, I was assigned an extremely difficult problem in a two-days coding challenge within the company premises. During my stay in the company, they were frequently checking on my progress and sometimes giving me hints or additional small quizzes/coding assignments. Again, my love to the technical person was deepened during that period. At the end, I believe I failed their expectations as I had few outcomes by the deadline. However, I kept troubling them by sending some improved results every other day for a week. After waiting for a while, for a reason or another, they invited me to the final interview with the CTO. The CTO was very friendly and he already won my respect way before, but I felt he was looking down on me, thus I decided to show my true nature and to attack. He saw through it, and appreciated my frankness and challenging nature. As a curtesy, he walked me through his thesis, which made my day. After that, I received an informal offer, but a lot of confusion started. I leaned quite heavily on the talent acquisition personnel to address several issues, relaying on the fact we already developed our relation to good extend. The talent acquisition personnel helped a lot but got tired as well and I sensed that our relation got affected as a result. At the same time, I had a difficult time with the human-resources personnel, as we cannot understand each other. Finally, I got a formal offer, but I was surprised the supposedly permanent term is now a temporary, 1-year fixed term, despite that the posting I applied to never indicated such change possibility. I kept struggling to fix things, but I was not able to enhance it beyond first year temporary, then permanent. At the end, I accepted the offer, based on my trust of the CTO and the technical personnel that I fall in love with.
