I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Pasadena, CA) in Mar 2017
Interview
The interview process was very light. I received an email from my mentor indicating that he wanted to schedule an interview. We talked over the phone for about 30-45 minutes. The interview started off with my mentor introducing the many ongoing projects on the team. Afterwards, we went over the details of two projects on my resume. I did most of the talking but he would stop me once in a while to ask a couple of questions regarding implementation. The remainder of interview was purely behavioral and more of an assessment of my project preferences. My interviewer was very accommodating, and seemed very interested in giving a solid interview and (to be internship) experience. He asked about my project preferences within the team, and about my preferences for certain coding languages.
Smooth interview process. Behavioral-based interview. Use the STAR method. The interviewers (aka the team) were very friendly, explained the project that I would be working on if I were on board.
