I had a very nice day of interviews, enjoyed the campus and enjoyed all of the top-tier work going on, and really liked the people there. I liked the self-motivated attitude of the employees. The employees overall seem happy there, and I'm sure I would have been too. I didn't like the "always-working" feeling I was getting from visiting. I don't like the lack of focus on the bigger picture but instead sadly on just getting another paper out (but this is everywhere in science). I also didn't like that JPL is so huge and bureaucratic now. It's been over 2 months since my interview and I'm still waiting for my reimbursement. I didn't hear back for a week, so I assumed the offer was given to a colleague (who did indeed get the offer a few weeks later). I ended up accepting an offer at a corporation that offered a higher compensation than the range given in my screening interview at a branch with fewer employees. BTW, this corporation I accepted an offer at got me my reimbursement in under a week.
