I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at NGP VAN (Washington, DC) in Jan 2020
Interview
It was a basic interview make sure you know your basics mine consisted of strings but I wouldn't but arrays and hash maps off the table and it was in the programming language of my choice. Interviewer was respectful and let me work through my solution. Did relatively well but it took them a long time to get back to me which to their credit they warned me about. However by the time I heard back many other internship windows had closed so maybe keep applying and interviewing as you wait for them to get back. This position was eventually cancelled due to the pandemic. Only problem is that ever since I interviewed I've been getting emails from democratic campaigns from places I don't even live in. Honestly I could be dead wrong but when I go to unsubscribe it seems to unsubscribe me from NGP VAN. Thus it leads me to believe that NGP VAN has my email in a fundraising list and the only way I think they could be got that is through my application. While my voting principles do align with most of NGP VAN (Democratic) I don't think I should be donating to Colorado elections as a Californian. Just something to think about. It is as simple as unsubscribing but if the ethics bother you well there you have it.
