Truly awful. I met a representative through Meet the Firms and he passed along my resume to the hiring manager. I was then contacted to set up a first virtual meeting. I met with the audit staff and really enjoyed talking to them. We went over my resume and they asked me specific questions about my experiences and my best assets and such. The interview was very conversational and friendly. After that, I was then emailed and asked to set up another meeting in person to complete the second part: evaluations. As it was required to be in person, I flew down and arrived at the office. I was then told I would be taking a Word, Excel, and Audit Simulation with an option to take the Access test. I was directed to a computer and was told that I would have 15 minutes for my Word evaluation and 30(?) minutes to do an Excel evaluation. The Word evaluation was to draft a business letter to a person who owned an agency on behalf of the Writers Guild Trust Fund. You were supposed to ask her to set an audit appointment date and ask for all documentation necessary to do an audit of four years or something like that. The Excel evaluation included columns and columns of data. You were supposed to first format it and then add totals, alphabetize, and implement functions with the proration rates they included. After that, I was taken to another room to do the audit simulation. The audit simulation involved like a 15+ page booklet of contracts, cash receipt journals, and etc. They also provided a booklet of different schedules. You had 30 minutes to answer 6 questions using the schedules. It also included the interviewer reading a prompt and going through both booklets with you for about 15 minutes. You are not allowed to have the instructional background information at your disposal during the test(a fact that she did not make clear until the end of her spiel). They later told me it was also a test of your note taking skills essentially. You are given a notepad, pencils, and calculators to do so. Afterwards, you have to review all of your answers to the simulation and explain your thought process in getting all your answers and the interviewer takes note of your thought process. Finally, senior personnel are brought in and interview you. You are given feedback on your interview(they grade all assessments you take before your interview). It was annoying, because after the first 2 assessments, I wanted to cut my losses and end it there. However, I continued and tried to produce some effort. Yet, I was essentially told outright at the end that I had failed in all regards and was given tips for interviews with other firms. They mentioned my poor performance in the first 2 exams. Why would you waste both of our time if you knew you weren't interested? So essentially in the last part I was asked random questions just because and was asked why I didn't know some things. They also told me that the audit simulation was largely a test to ask for help as in each evaluation you are given an extension to dial if you need help. However, my interviewer was so unpleasant and cold that I didn't feel inclined to do so.
