Extensive 7-round process overturned at the final stage due to internal misalignment
Interview Positive:
The senior management team and advisors involved in the initial six rounds were highly experienced, respectful, and thoroughly engaged. The actual interview discussions were high-quality.
Interview Negative:
The process lasted over two months and required seven separate interview rounds. After completing the final panel, I received explicit written confirmation congratulating me on selection and stating that an official offer letter would follow shortly.
Unfortunately, the process broke down entirely at the executive level. Despite a unanimous recommendation from the senior management panel who vetted my experience, the offer was rescinded due to a lack of alignment between the CEO and the hiring team.
Subjecting a candidate to a two-month, seven-stage loop only to overturn a written selection confirmation highlights a significant gap in internal communication and consensus. It creates a highly inefficient candidate experience when senior managers do not have final hiring authority for their own teams.
