Phone interview for one Department led to an in-person interview for a different position. In-person interview required me to get plane tickets from Orange County to San Francisco airport, and Lyft to Natera. 3 supervisors attended personally plus 2 more by teleconference. All attendees seemed serious about the interview. Standard questions. Very friendly.
About a month later I emailed the HR coordinator and found that the job was canceled because it wasn't in the budget.
Very upset with lack of communication. Also suggest getting budget approval BEFORE job announcement and encouraging applucant to go through multiple (and costly) interview steps.
