I was likely considered because of an in-house referral. The human resources manager was friendly and very informative throughout the process which began with a phone screening. I was then given a somewhat intensive project to work on to demonstrate my research analysis skills, involving a narrative and slide-deck portions. This was followed by an in person interview with 3 staff members and then a phone interview with a senior leader. The offer and negotiation was simple and straightforward. Overall a very positive experience!
My only feedback would be to alert applicants of the project portion before it is assigned- mine was assigned the Friday before a holiday weekend and due the following Monday. Luckily, I could swing it but I can imagine some applicants could not. It may have been possible to reschedule that or even ask for an extension, but that is a tricky place to be in as an applicant.
