Applied online and recruiter responded within one week of receiving my application for a screening interview. Submitting your application online anywhere usually means it gets sent into a black hole, never to be seen again, however I appreciated their quick response. I went through an initial screening interview, was given writing prompts and an analysis to complete, three rounds of phone interviews, and then an in-person interview with three employees and the hiring manager.
The interview process was fairly simple, lengthy, but labor-intensive and after my in-person interview...silence. After two weeks of said silence, I followed up via personal email, only to get a response 10 minutes later with an automated rejection from a no-reply email. They couldn't be bothered to write a personal email or make a phone call to inform me--professional cowardice at its best.
Yes, I may not have been a good fit, but how companies treat the efforts candidates put into their interview process, speaks volumes of their company culture and I would encourage their recruitment team to put in that last bit of effort, especially when you expect that of your applicants.
