There was a call with a recruiter that was scheduled for 45 minutes. As the call went on, it felt more like an interrogation than an actual conversation.
There were a lot of questions. By the time all their questions were done, there was only 1 minute left of the scheduled call. While I was answering, I was interrupted mid sentence because the recruiter wanted to move on to the next question. When I'd answer concisely, they would probe for more information. When I answered more elaborately, it was very difficult to gauge if they were listening.
The structure of the call felt odd and the focus seemed more on getting through all the questions instead of listening to my responses and being conversational.
I managed to ask a couple questions myself and, given how the conversation had been going and their responses to my questions, I chose to withdraw my application.
