I applied online. I interviewed at National Wildlife Federation (Reston, VA) in Jun 2021
Interview
Not a good experience. Very disorganized. I was told I would be having a 30-min. interview with the Product Owner via Zoom. The hiring manager did not turn on her webcam, which I thought was rude and unprofessional. It took about 2 minutes for her to even find my resume (can't believe she's never heard of folders). In the meantime we talked awkwardly about the weather. She finally finds it and proceeds to tell me that this will be just a quick 10-minute meet and greet call. What? I was expecting an actual interview because that's what they told me. She didn't have a set of questions ready, and twice just worked off some things I said, respoding, "Oh yeah, I was going to ask you about that." I noted that I could clean up some accessibility issues and she tells me that their live website is actually a "beta" version. Come again? Who in their right mind posts a live, public facing website that hasn't been tested properly and contains dozens of errors. Right then I knew that I could not work for a place like this. My advice would be to steer clear.
