      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Munich, Bavaria
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NavVis (Munich, Bavaria) in Apr 2021

      Interview

The process lasted for a month. First, an introductory interview in which some behavioural questions were asked. Second, they send you a very easy coding exercise and a code review question. Third, you talk with the potential team you would be working with. Overall I had a negative experience and got rejected without any feedback and they stated that they found a better candidate. I find this reply very unprofessional from the recruiters and developers. First, I should have not passed to the next stage if there is an already better candidate. I stated all my skills and solved the challenge properly. The comparison could have been easily done with CVs. Second, the last interview after the challenge was totally useless, I got asked a very stupid question such as "How to implement an interface in C++?", "How to declare private member variables in a class in Python?" , and some of the other software engineering questions that one could learn about them in less than an hour. Third, they do not really care about your degree, they care about experience, and they treat the applicant as a sub-human who cannot learn anything further even if the degree indicates that the applicant completed challenging related courses in Computer Vision. Fourth, one of the interviewers was super dry and had a problem with communication skills. He also kept asking about skills that can be easily learned but I did not state it in my CV. Fifth, the code challenging exercise does not show the analytical skills and computer vision skills of the applicant. It was rather a question that the first-semester bachelor could solve. Waste of time. Also, the company itself seems disorganised, and they do not risk hiring full-timers.
